The foundation of a child's
security lies in knowing they are loved. Knowing
there is someone to care for them and keep them safe
is particularly reassuring.
"Mothers Are Like That" is a
gorgeously illustrated reassurance of a mother's
unending love. Using softly-drawn scenes of animal
and human families, Ms. Carrick conveys how mothers
care for their children before birth, feed, clean,
and protect them. She does an outstanding job
conveying that no matter what species, the love of a
mother is a reliable constant in a child's life.
The gentle story line and calming
pictures of "Mothers Are Like That" makes this a
perfect choice for younger children. Little ones are
able to read the simple sentences of this book as
well. It is a wonderful story to cuddle up with at
the end of the day.
