Easter Egg Safety


Wash hands before handling.

Wash work area, utensils or other objects that may have contacted the eggs.

Choose only unbroken eggs.

Before coloring and/or decorating Easter eggs, hard cook the eggs first.

Color eggs with food coloring or non-toxic, food-safe dyes. DO NOT color and/or decorate cracked eggs.

Eggs should not be left out of the refrigerator for more than two hours.

HIDING EASTER EGGS - Hide eggs in places were they will not come in contact with pets, dirt or other bacteria. Return eggs to refrigerator for storage. Eggs that become cracked during hiding or do not get refrigerated within two hours of being hidden should not be eaten.
