| Everyone loves reading their
fortune and getting a prize inside their cereal,
Cracker Jacks or cookies.
Get creative. Type some jokes,
riddles or funny fortunes on a sheet of typing
paper. Print out and cut into small strips. Then
make the fortune cookies to put the strips
inside of.
¼ cup all-purpose flour
2 tablespoons sugar
1 tablespoon cornstarch
dash of salt
2 tablespoons cooking oil
1 egg white
1 tablespoon water
1. In a small mixing bowl,
stir together flour, sugar, cornstarch, and
salt. Add oil and egg white; stir until smooth.
Add water and mix well.
2. Ask a grown-up to help you
pour about a tablespoon of batter onto a lightly
greased skillet. Spread batter into about a 3 ½"
(8.5 cm) circle. Cook over low heat about 4
minutes, or lightly browned. Flip cookie with
wide spatula and cook for one more minute more.
3. Working quickly, place
cookie on a pot holder or paper towel. Put a
riddle strip in the center (fold paper if
necessary). Fold cookie in half, then fold again
over glass. Let cool. Repeat with remaining
batter. Make 8 cookies
