Coin Exchange Game

This is a great game for 1st graders as they are learning math and how to count money.

For the bank, you will need 15 pennies, 6 nickels, 12 dimes and one die (or slips of paper with the numbers 1-6 written on them).

Directions:
Start with all the coins in the center of the table or game area. This is the bank. Take turns rolling the die or drawing slips of paper. For whatever number you roll or draw, take that number of pennies. For example, if you roll a 4, take four pennies. Each time you have 5 pennies, exchange them with the bank for a nickel. When you have two nickels, exchange them for a dime. The game ends when there are no dimes left in the bank. The player with the most money at the end of the game, wins.
