Ingredients for making thin paste:
1/4 cup sugar
1/4 cup non-self-rising flour
1/2 teaspoon powdered alum
1 3/4 cups water
1/4 teaspoon oil of cinnamon
1.In a medium-sized pan, mix
together sugar, flour, and alum.
2.Gradually add 1 cup water,
stirring vigorously to break up lumps.
3.Boil until clear and smooth,
stirring constantly.
4.Add remaining water and oil of
cinnamon. Stir until thoroughly mixed.
Use a brush or a craft stick to
spread (popsicle sticks are fine too). Lasts for
several months without refrigeration.
