By Cindy Kerschner It's your anniversary. You and your spouse decide to celebrate at the quiet country inn where you got engaged. You salivate at the thought of clams over linguine as you round the corner and pull into the lot. Flashing neon lights slap you back into reality. The Buck's Sports Bar? "What The Buck is this?" you ask, "Where's The Buck and Country Inn?" That's when you realize the nearest restaurant is twelve miles away and your hunger pangs can be heard over the radio. In order to keep the peace (and get some food) you decide to go inside. The hum of seventy TV 's playing at one time brings a tear to your eye. No, it's not the sentimentality; the pitch makes your eyes water. You order the "punt and pint special" for two and decide to make the best of it. Halfway through the potato skins , a man approaches your table . It's good old Buck and he wants to know what you think of the changes. You scan the room; mostly college kids, not one familiar face in the crowd. "Buck," you answer, "Just what we needed, another sports bar." Sarcasm does have its place.
