Ten Ways You Know You Have Teenagers

By Anne Skalitza

10. The cordless and cell phones need constant recharging.

9. You buy milk and orange juice by the gallon. Every day.

8. They complain that their stereos just don't have enough amps. You take your earplugs out to hear what they're saying.

7. If they're boys, you find yourself washing the same clothes over and over. If they're girls, you haven't seen the same outfit twice in over a month.

6. You feel like you're still raising toddlers: you say something and they oppose it.

5. They dream of pizza, hamburgers, and fries. You dream of a nice thick steak. But guess what you end up having for dinner?

4. The electric company sends you a Holiday Greetings card each year. The microwave, computer, tv, and stereo are in constant use and they are proud to be your electrical supplier.

3. "Hey!" replaces "hi!"

2. Their hugs for you are big and generous. But,of course, not in front of friends.

1. And one day you realize that you can have a mature conversation with your teenager. And you find yourself grinning from ear to ear, proud of how he/she is growing up.
