Be Silly. Be honest. Be kind.

Baby's Fingers and Toes

(We all know This Little Piggy, etc...but thought it deserved mentioning)

These are Baby's fingers.
These are Baby's toes.
This is Baby's tummy button.
Round and round it goes.

(Patting the bottoms of child's feet)
Pitty, patty, polt.
Shoe the wild colt.
Here's a nail.
There's a nail.
Pitty, patty, polt!

(Pointing to face parts)
Two little eyes to look around,
Two little ears to hear each sound,
One little note to smell what's sweet,
One little mouth that likes to eat.

(Running fingers up and down child's arms)
This little train ran up the track.
It went toot, toot, and then came back.
The other train went up the track.
It went toot, toot, and then came back.

(Bounding child on your knee)
Giddyap, horsie, to the fair.
What'll we buy when we get there?
A penny apple and penny pear.
Giddyap, horsie, to the fair.

(Bouncing child on both knees)
Trot along to Boston
Trot along to Lynn
Better watch out,
Or you'll fall in (split knees apart...don't drop the kid!)

(Cute dance to do with child)
Dance to your daddy, my little baby.
Dance to your daddy, my little lamb.
You shall have a fishy in a little dishy,
When the boat comes in.
