My son's nickname is Jordy. His Grandpa is friends with a
guy who owns a liquor/candy/convenience store that is
called "Jordys", as his name is Jordan also. When Jordan
was five his Grandpa would take him there most days to get
some candy and visit with his friend. Jordy was impressed
that the sign outside of the store read "Jordys". One day
Grandpa and the owner told Jordy that when he grew up and
was a man he could have the store, since it was already
named after him. Jordy talked about it for a couple of
weeks and then we all assumed that he had forgotten about
the store. At Jordan's kindergarten graduation at his
Christian school, they asked all the kids what they wanted
to be when they grew up. My little man, with his baby blue
sweater and blond hair stepped up to the podium and said
"When I grow up I am going to sell cigarettes and booze to
people, my Grandpa already gave me the store." Most of the
audience started to laugh; the rest just gave us strange
looks.
